Remember these...

...films I borrowed from friend Susan? Just finished Chori Chori (2003) last week. It was a nice 'Welcome Back.'

I've also started Hameshaa (1997) and I don't know if I'm gonna make it y'all! Between Kajol's unibrow extraordinaire and Saif's Fabio hair--complete with perpetually billowing scarf--I may pass out in exhaustion from fugliness if I don't hyperventilate in response to the continual puffs of directionless air onscreen.
Reviews en route...

[Kajol is making the exact face I make when watching Hamesha!]

Are you kidding me? The fugliness made the movie for me.

Hello,
I'm a first-time visitor.Nice blog BTW. I have an african-american sister-in-law as well so I'm hoping you share my outrage with the following in Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom the new Abhishek,Preity Zinta movie.Plz do watch it although it is a terrible film.

This is true Preity zinta's character Alvira Khan actually says ‘I hope I don’t marry a ‘Kaala-Kalootha’ (Black/Dark Ghost!)’ . How horribly racist is that? As a little girl she apparently prays to Jesus begging him to find her a man who’s as fair as Jesus himself, never a dark-skinned Asian. The director and MS. Zinta ought to be held accountable for this. For a nation of brown people that incredibly idolize the fair-complexion, this has to go down as one of the most irresponsible Movie Lines since ‘Hum Kaale hain to kya hua Dilwale hain!’(Yes I am black, but I still have a big heart---literal translation!) It is remarks like this that stick in the minds of impressionable young children to think its okay to make such racist jokes? And what race are these people denigrading anyways—- their own—–Ludicrous to say the least

U will never guess what happened when i checked out the link for the films. I was listening to my bollywood playlist and as I read that you were leaning heavily towards Hum Dil de chuke Sanaam, The song Nimbooda came on. Surreal Hun?
I love Chori Chori so much cos It was my reintroduction to modern bollywood after about a six year hiatus. I think Ajay Devgan is one of the unsung actors of bollywood; kind of the Ed Harris of bollywood cinema.
I hated Hum Dil De Chuke Sanaam. It only became watchable in the second half. I make it a point to avoid films that have Salman Khan. Why anyone considers his acting talented is beyond me.
@ Joseph Gonzales: they said what? I knew that movie was going to be tacky from the promos. Looks like YashRaj films needs to hire more educated and knowledgable writers for their scripts. I barely survived Dhoom II and then they bring this. I am Nigerian and so I am royally pissed.

I remember the Neela Dupatta Peela Suit song, that was a real craze among youngsters those days...

I swear, Kajol's eyebrows leave her face at night and live a wild life of their own. It's as if she's Eddie Munster's long lost sister.
I did like her in Fanaa ;)

anyone who wants to hate on Kajol is f***ed up ! i mean, what book say's that all girls have to have perfectly shaved eye-brows. Kajol is beautiful and the most amazing actress that ever hit bollywood. her Unibrow makes me feel empowered.

and btw, i like the movie Hamesha, so u might wanna keep your biased opinions to yourself because you're really offending a lot of ppl with the eyebrows remark.
